According to the White House, the recently signed defense pact between Russia and North Korea is cause for concern, but not surprising.
Speaking to reporters, White House spokesman John Kirby said the agreement between the two countries is a sign of Russia’s frustration with foreign aid in the war in Ukraine.
The agreement pledged both countries to help each other if they faced armed aggression and replaces previous agreements between the countries.
Russia said that this pact was necessary “due to the deep evolution of the geopolitical situation in the world and in the region”.
Mr Kirby also said the US would prioritize planned deliveries of foreign military equipment to Ukraine, which “desperately needs” more air defense capabilities.
