From C. and L., along with a few others: “Wondering if you have any updates on the status of the splash pad at Pier 25? Its construction started back in the fall, but seems to have stalled in the past few months. “
The answer to this: The Hudson River Park Trust is scrambling to complete the water play features at Pier 25 as soon as possible. There were some technical hiccups with the concrete installation, and then there is the re-installation of the spray features. Stay tuned. Obviously, this work can only be carried out in good weather and after the last possible frost, so it was stopped in winter.

On the good news front, the Misty Wind at the park’s science playground, which opened in January above Pier 25, will soon be active. This is the territory of two giant, climbing sturgeons. It should be fun…
