Report: Andy Murray to miss Wimbledon after surgery on spinal cyst

Murray has previously said this year’s Wimbledon would be his last, having first announced in February that he had no intention of playing past this summer. But injuries derailed those plans: first, a complete AFTL tear in his left ankle at the Miami Open that forced him to miss nearly two months, and then a retirement at Queen’s.

Despite being named to his fifth Olympic team, Murray said earlier in the week he wasn’t “100% sure” he would play, citing his physical challenges.

“It depends a little bit physically, how I do. How the next few weeks go as well. Yes, my plan now is to play, but it’s not straightforward,” he said at the time.
