An Atlantic County rapper has been sentenced to 20 months in federal prison for trying to carry a loaded handgun in a carry-on bag as he tried to board a flight at Los Angeles International Airport.
Tyvan “Fat Money” Raybon, 36, of Douglasville, Georgia, pleaded guilty in April to being a prohibited person in possession of a firearm and ammunition, according to the FBI.
He was sentenced to one year and eight months behind bars on Friday, July 26, in downtown Los Angeles.
According to the FBI, Raybon was charged in June 2022 with carrying a 9mm Glock semi-automatic pistol and several rounds of ammunition in a carry-on bag while attempting to fly to Atlanta.
Transportation Security Administration officials discovered the items during a routine baggage check.
FBI officials said Raybon is prohibited from owning a gun because of a conviction for domestic violence in Illinois.
