A post by Simpson’s family indicated that he died Wednesday, surrounded by his children and grandchildren.

In 1994, Simpson’s ex-wife and mother of his two children, Nicole Brown Simpson, was found dead along with her boyfriend, Ron Goldman. Simpson was accused of murdering them both, but was later acquitted.

On April 10, our father, Orenthal James Simpson, passed away after a battle with cancer.

He was surrounded by his children and grandchildren.
