With 42.5 degrees Celsius on the hottest day of the season in Delhi, the heat is expected today
The national capital on Thursday experienced the hottest day of the summer so far, with temperatures exceeding 42.5 degrees Celsius, as reported by the weather office, PTI reported. This summer has surpassed the previous record of 42 degrees Celsius on May 8, according to the India Meteorological Department (IMD).
On Thursday, the temperature was two degrees above the normal range. Daytime relative humidity ranged from 25% to 65%.
The IMD’s seven-day forecast indicates that far-flung areas of the capital could witness scorching conditions on Saturday, with temperatures potentially touching 45 degrees Celsius.
Heat wave conditions are defined by the Department of Surveillance as occurring when the maximum temperature is 4.5 degrees or more above normal, reaching at least 45 degrees Celsius.
