AI Anchors To Helm DD Kisan Relaunch May 26
In a first for an Indian government channel, Doordarshan will introduce an artificial intelligence (AI) news anchor for its farmer-centric channel, DD Kisan, on 26 May.
Named AI Krish and AI Bhoomi, these virtual hosts will spearhead the relaunch of the channel, which has been on air for nine years, with a revamped look and revamped content tailored by the Ministry of Agriculture.
Capable of delivering news 24/7 non-stop, these AI anchors will provide real-time updates on agricultural research, market prices, weather alerts and government schemes to farmers across the country.
A remarkable feature is their ability to communicate in 50 different Indian and foreign languages.
“From Kashmir to Kanyakumar and from Gujarat to Arunachal, these AI anchors will disseminate important information related to agriculture in regional languages,” the ministry said, PTI reported.
