The National Investigation Agency (NIA) has arrested two prime suspects, identified as Abdul Matein Taha and Musawir Hussain Shazeb, in connection with the Rameswaram Cafe blast case.

They were arrested by an NIA team at a hideout near Kolkata. Musawir Hussain Shazeb is accused of placing the weapon in the cafe, while Abdul Mateen Taha is alleged to have planned, carried out and subsequently evaded law enforcement.

US President Joe Biden assured Japan and the Philippines of the United States’ unwavering defense commitment, describing them as “iron-clad”.
