Vicksburg native Mikey Johnson has earned a Division I football scholarship. Johnson announced on social media that he had accepted an offer from Jackson State University.
Johnson, a defensive back, most recently played at Vicksburg High School, where he made both the all-county and all-district teams. He finished the 2023 season with 16 tackles, five pass breakups, four interceptions, one blocked shot and one touchdown.
Johnson recently transferred to Germantown High School where he plays basketball and football for the Mavericks.
