French Open final: Iga Schwitek defeats Jasmine Paolini for third straight title at Roland Garros.

Iga Svichtek won the 2024 French Open women’s final on Saturday, defeating Jasmine Paolini 6-2, 6-1.

The 23-year-old Schwichtek won his 21st straight match at Roland Garros and won his third consecutive French Open title. He finished the match with 11 wins from the last 12 games.

The 28-year-old Paolini had no answer for Schwitek, who now has five career Grand Slam victories. The Italian hit 15 unforced errors and couldn’t find a way back into the match after an early 2-1 lead in the first set quickly disappeared.

Švetek, the world No. 1 player and now the three-time reigning French Open singles champion, dropped just one set during the tournament and is only the third woman in the Open era (Monica Seles 1990-92, Justine Henin 2005-07) to win the French Open three years in a row. She also joins Henin (4), Steffi Graf (6) and Chris Evert (7) as the only women to win the Roland Garros title four times. And at just 23 years old, he is the youngest person to reach this milestone.
