England survived a scare to book their place in the quarter-finals of Euro 2024 after beating Slovakia 2-1 in extra time.

Gareth Southgate The team fell behind in the 25th minute when Ivan Schrantz fired Slovakia into shock and they looked set to exit the tournament as the game headed into injury time.

However, Jude Bellingham produced a moment of brilliance to score a stunning equalizer within seconds to send the last 16 tie into extra time.

Captain Harry Kane gave England the lead in the first half of extra time and they held on despite some nervous moments.

England looked disappointing in the first half, failing to score and picking up a couple of yellow cards.

After half-time, manager Gareth Southgate failed to make any changes to his team, but there were more attempts at goal.

However, Phil Foden’s goal was disallowed by VAR and Declan Rice’s effort went over the bar.

Southgate’s team will now face Switzerland Euro 2024 quarter finals on Saturday.

If they reached the last four, they would play in the semi-finals on Wednesday, July 10.
