College protest updates: Police continue to clear encampments as protests go global

The New York Police Department began clearing the New York University and New School campuses Friday morning and arrested more than 50 protesters. Pro-Palestinian protests and resulting police crackdowns continued to devastate campuses and many others across the country; More than 130 people were arrested at the State University of New York in New Paltz and 17 were arrested at the University of Notre Dame late Thursday night. In Oregon, law enforcement officers cleared the library at Portland State University for the second time Thursday night, bringing the number of arrests to at least 30 during the day.
