An unknown man took a woman’s cell phone in Central Park and threw it into the Swan Lake

An unidentified man took the cell phone of a woman visiting Central Park and threw it into Swan Lake in a strange act of aggression, police said Tuesday.

The incident comes as police continue a major robbery spree in Central Park – including three violent robberies in 27 hours.

The 35-year-old victim was in a park and walking by a lake when a man stormed up to her around 11:30 a.m. Monday, grabbed her phone and threw it into the lake, witnesses told police.

The assailant ran away, but responding police officers found him in the park and arrested him.

Fontaine Moise, 42, was charged with criminal mischief and was released without bail in Manhattan Criminal Court, according to court records.

The NYPD stepped up patrols in the park over the weekend in response to a recent spate of robberies that made parkgoers wary.
