An assailant attempted to break into Drake’s $100 million mansion just a day after his bodyguard was shot nearby.

The Toronto Police Service told DailyMail.com that the man tried to enter the Bridle Path property – and ended up fighting with security officers outside.

They added that the attacker, who has not been named, was arrested under the Mental Health Act. In Ontario, this law allows police officers to arrest people if they pose a danger to others or themselves.

It comes as a Drake security guard was left fighting for his life after being shot dead outside the property in a shooting the day before.

Police said Wednesday’s break-in is unrelated to the shooting.

The incident happened shortly after 2am on Tuesday in the upmarket area of ​​Bridle Path, when an unnamed 48-year-old man was rushed to hospital after being found “behind the gate” with non-life threatening injuries.

Toronto police told DailyMail.com they could not confirm whether the rapper was at home at the time of the shooting.

The suspect fled the scene in a car and according to reports, they are still at large.

About an hour earlier, a man was killed and a woman wounded in a shooting about nine miles away in Oakwood Village. It is unclear if the two shootings are related.

Police previously said the shooting took place a few blocks away, but the report was later corrected to say it was outside the rapper’s home. SOurs said CP24 that Drake has offered to cooperate with investigators as they investigate the shooting.
