The first official visit commitment of the weekend for Rutgers football came from Myron Gurman on Saturday afternoon.
Gurman, who was named a three-star prospect by Rivals earlier this week, is a 6-foot-6, 255-pound defensive lineman from Spencerport High School (Spencerport, N.Y.).
He also holds offers from Buffalo, UConn and Toledo, among others.
With Gurman’s commitment, Rutgers football now has nine commits in the Class of 2025. He is the second defensive lineman in the group, joining Florida interior defensive lineman Jion Simon.
Three-star Simon also had offers Texas, Tennessee, USC (University of Southern California), Pittsburgh, PA. NC State and Colorado.
Gurman announced his commitment to Rutgers via his social media:
It’s a blessing to make your dreams come true by God’s grace🙏🏻 I am 100% committed to Rutgers University 🪓 pic.twitter.com/DQPKnlmjPd

Last year, Rutgers landed New York’s top recruit, four-star wide receiver KJ Duff. The addition of Gurman continues a strong recruiting effort from Rutgers in the Empire State.
It’s a big recruiting weekend for Rutgers, with the likes of four-star offensive tackle Jaelin Matthews and four-star John Forster on campus for official visits this weekend.
