Breaking Down the 49ers 10 Picks in the 2024 NFL Draft

The San Francisco 49ers have ten picks projected for the 2024 NFL Draft, the same number the team had last season. However, there are some notable differences when it comes to the capital project that San Francisco is working on this time around. Unlike the last two years, the team will once again have a first-round pick, and in 2023, the 49ers also had no chance to make it to the second round.

In fact, president of football operations and general manager John Lynch had to trade with the Minnesota Vikings, giving up picks 102, 164 and 222 for the 87th pick. With a third-round pick, the 49ers secured G. Iyer Brown is out of Penn State, starting in place of Talanoa Hufanga after a season-ending ACL tear. That move up to No. 87 was the 49ers’ only trade for the 2023 NFL Draft, and the class had a total of ten players.

Below are the projected picks the 49ers will have in the upcoming draft:

  • 1 tour, No. 31
  • 2nd round, No. 63
  • 3rd round, No. 94
  • 4 rounds, no. 124 (via Dallas Cowboys)
  • 4th round, No. 132 (compensatory)
  • 4th round, No. 135
  • 5th round, No. 176 (compensatory)
  • 6th round, No. 211 (compensatory)
  • 6th round, No. 215 (compensatory)
  • 7th round, No. 251

Four of the 49ers’ 10 picks are compensatory picks, with two more being products of trades made during the 2023 season. The team received a fourth-round pick from the Dallas Cowboys (No. 123 overall) for quarterback Trey Lance, and they acquired a seventh-round pick (No. 232 overall) in the Denver Broncos trade for quarterback Randy Gregory. . At the start of free agency, the team traded the 232nd pick to acquire defensive lineman Maliek Collins from the Houston Texans.
