A 17-year-old suspect in the Round Rock shooting was arrested

ROUND ROCK, Texas – A 17-year-old from Manor was arrested Thursday morning in connection with a Juneteenth weekend shooting in Round Rock that left two people dead and 14 injured.

The Lone Star Fugitive Task Force arrested the juvenile on a charge of second-degree aggravated assault with a deadly weapon. He was taken to the Williamson County Jail.

Round Rock Police Chief Allen Banks said at a press conference Thursday that the juvenile was not the only shooter and that an investigation is underway to determine who was involved. The minor and any other participants may face additional charges.

The Round Rock Police Department identified the victims as Lindsay Vicknair, 33, of Manor, and Ara Duke, 54, of Pflugerville. Both were pronounced dead at the scene and did not participate in the shooting.

The incident took place during Juneteenth at Old Settlers Park in Round Rock, when an argument broke out between two groups and someone opened fire. Police said there is no indication the shooting was gang-related.
